October 25: Legal Assistance of Windsor's 40th anniversary celebration and symposium

A message from Legal Assistance of Windsor: On Saturday, October 25, 2014, we will be celebrating Legal Assistance of Windsor's 40th anniversary. In the afternoon, we will be holding a free admission symposium, Community-Based Advocacy: From Street to Courtroom, at the University of Windsor Law School, featuring:

  • Maude Barlow, Honorary Chairperson of the Council of Canadians,
  • Loly Rico, President of the Canadian Council of Refugees,
  • Ken Lewenza, former National President of the CAW, and
  • Lenny Abramowicz, the Executive Director of the Association of Community Legal Clinics of Ontario.

The symposium has been accredited by the Law Society of Upper Canada for 0.5 hours of professionalism and 1.5 hours of substantive content.

In the evening we will host a celebratory dinner at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts starting at 5:30 p.m. Individual dinner tickets are $81.50 per person (including HST and a charitable tax receipt of $25). A table of eight can be purchased for $550 (including HST and a charitable tax receipt of $98).
