The Parole Board of Canada (PBC), as part of the criminal justice system, makes independent, conditional release and pardon decisions and clemency recommendations. Through the victim's portal, victims and their representatives can recieve information concerning the offender, submit submit information to the PBC, attend a hearing, and present a victim statement.

Participate in the Record Suspension User Fee Consultation

The Parole Board of Canada is holding an online consultation on the record suspension user fee between May 9 and June 6, 2016.

Record Suspensions and Clemency

As of March 13, the term "pardon" has been replaced with "record suspension" in Canada, and as of February 23, the fee to process a record suspension has increased to $631.

Changes to Pardons Eligibility and Application Process

On June 30, 2010, the Government of Canada amended the Criminal Records Act , resulting in changes to how pardons are granted by the National Parole Board.
