Unfair Practices under the Consumer Protection Act

Date:
November 14, 2011 (94 minutes)

This interactive webinar, presented by Margaret Capes, Legal Education Coordinator of Community Law School (Sarnia-Lambton) Inc., looks at the specific protections afforded by the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). It covers the impact of false, misleading, or deceptive representations by vendors. Case studies, including those raised by webinar attendees, illustrate how the CPA can be used to free consumers from obligations that were improperly induced in violation of the Act. The short primer and sample case studies (attached below) should be reviewed prior to the watching and listening to this webinar.
