Connect Legal is a registered charity formed to provide legal education and assistance to low-resource immigrants engaged in launching and growing independent businesses. Connect Legal provides educational services to hard working immigrant entrepreneurs by way of seminars and the dissemination of legal knowledge. Connect Legal also matches low-resource immigrant entrepreneurs with volunteer commercial lawyers who provide pro bono (free) commercial law services. (Please note that Connect Legal does not provide assistance with non-commercial, litigation or insolvency matters.)
To be accepted to the Connect Legal Volunteer Lawyer Matching Program, you must:
- Be an immigrant who has been granted permission to remain in Canada;
- Be operating or launching a viable business;
- Be unable to afford legal services as determined by our economic guidelines; and
- Complete an application and provide all required documentation.
