November 6: Upcoming event in Thunder Bay: Using the law to protect air, water, land and human health

Information from Canadian Environmental Law Association: At this evening event hosted by Environment North, CELA will discuss ways in which audience members can access information about environmental issues in their community and get involved in decision-making for projects which may have detrimental effects on air, water and land.

CELA will also discuss changes to Ontario's climate change plan, and the need for a plan with stringent greenhouse gas reduction targets and mitigation measures geared to low-income and vulnerable communities.

Environment North will provide an update on the consultations to site radioactive waste in the Northwest, while CELA will comment on the laws which apply to nuclear energy, the siting and management of waste, and the role of communities in the site selection process.

The event is free of charge, all are welcome!
