Information from Law Society of Ontario website: On June 20, join the Law Society of Ontario and the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Law (SOGIC) Section of the Ontario Bar Association for our annual program honouring Pride Month.

Less than one year ago, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered a historic apology to Canadians from the LGBTQ2 community, for enduring decades of "state-sponsored systematic oppression and rejection." An agreement in principle was also reached in a class action lawsuit brought by members of the RCMP, armed forces, and civil service who faced discrimination on the basis of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression between the 1950s and 1990s.

Join us for a panel discussion of the Just Society Report, in light of these important developments. The panel will discuss the present and potential future impacts of the Report, the apology, and the agreement in principle on the LGBTQ2 community.
