Legalities involving disclosure of HIV status

Here's the challenge ... Does everyone who is HIV positive have an obligation to disclose that fact to a potential lover, if the risk of transmission is minuscule? Canadian law says failing to disclose may be nothing short of aggravated sexual assault. With yesterday's arrest of an HIV-positive woman on that very charge, the debate over moral obligation and criminal culpability begins once again. On June 7th, CBC’s The Current featured a conversation with two women living with HIV who want their sex lives de-criminalized.
