June 6: Access Awareness Symposium
The Law Society of Upper Canada, ARCH Disability Law Centre and CILT (Centre for Independent Living Toronto) are pleased to invite members of the legal profession and public to their annual access awareness symposium.
The theme of this year's event is "Independent Living and Attendant Services." The symposium will focus on the various tools and strategies that can be employed to defend and promote the rights of persons with disabilities receiving attendant services.
Legal practitioners and community advocates will examine the ways tools such as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Ontario Human Rights Commission Policy on Competing Rights and mediation can be used to resolve disputes and protect rights.
