For a fifth and final time in the past two years, the House of Commons has voted to affirm equal marriage rights for same-sex couples in Canada. A day after the vote, Canadians for Equal Marriage released this official statement.

Law profs call on Stephen Harper to be honest on notwithstanding clause

A letter to Stephen Harper signed by over 100 law professors from across Canada says the consensus of constitutional law experts is that the Charter requires same-sex couples to be permitted access to civil marriage.
